MAJOR FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include assisting with the development of batteries using new chemistries. Development activities will include designing, building and testing of new battery materials. The candidate will be required to demonstrate hands-on ability in the research work required. The candidate will need to be able to analyze test data and prepare test reports and presentations. Development activities will also include participation in design reviews and design analysis.
PRIMARY DUTIES
•Assist in the development of new battery chemistries
•Assist in patent research to benchmark competition
•Operate some analytical equipment such as XRD, SEM, ICP
•Assist in the development and testing of battery cells and packs
•Operate battery test equipment such as those made by Arbin, Bitrode and Maccor
•Generate test plans, test matrices, and test reports
•Report on project status and make presentations as required
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
§Proficient knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.§Ability to generate test plans, matrices and test reports.§Public presentation experience preferred (either university or conference level).
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field is required.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
