MAJOR FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide quality, timely application engineering customer support with the business development team.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Develop new projects and technology such that capability, cost, and quality satisfy customer requirements
Develop innovative technologies in product design thru application development
Develop product definition based on internal, regulatory, and customer requirements
Develop and maintain product mechanization drawing
Perform system level design verification testing utilizing laboratory tools and systems
Follow design standards, guidelines, and best practices
Act as product technical expert for the product line
Act as product line center of expertise for HEV/PHEV/EV vehicle architectures
Perform teardown and analysis of competitive products
Provide leadership and technical direction for projects
Lead resolution of technical issues
Approve team technical deliverables
Participate and/or lead design reviews for development projects
Support further development of design standards and best practices
Support ISO-9000 certification activities
Raise broader product technical issues to engineering manager
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Understanding of engineering principles engine applications.
Experience in specifying, applying, and testing engine controls.
Experience in technical sales support.
Knowledge of the product development process.
Good business acumen.
Familiarity with Great Plains or related software and CAD systems required.
3 or more years of Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Engineering Field Support experience.
1 or more years of experience in advanced powertrain systems, lithium batteries/systems, or vehicle applications.
Demonstrated skills in communication of technical data and project information.
Strong prioritization skills including ability to manage frequent changes.
Flexibility in dealing with changing and/or partial information.
Excellent team skills including project leadership and schedule management.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to travel up to 20-33% to support above defined activities
