MAJOR FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
 Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, plan, schedule and monitor the movement of material through the production cycle. 
PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Release and monitor production material purchase orders to suppliers, including foreign suppliers.
  • Work with freight companies to meet production schedules.
  • Resolve issues with suppliers and internal customers.
 
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
 
  • Must be fluent (verbal and written) in Japanese and English.
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, & interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with little supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with many people at different levels of the organization internally and with suppliers externally.
  • Must be strategic, detail oriented, analytical, persistent and self-disciplined.
 
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
 
  • 4 year college degree in Business, Accounting, or related area.
  • 3-5 years minimum related material planning experience in a manufacturing environment required, automotive preferred.
