Position Overview:
EnerDel designs, build, and manufactures lithium-ion energy storage solutions and battery systems, focusing on heavy duty transportation, on- and off-grid electrical, mass transit, and task-oriented applications. The Field Service Engineer serves as a technical resource, assisting both end-users and less experienced support technicians in effectively identifying issues and using effective troubleshooting techniques to resolve customer issues. The Field Service Engineer acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for customer technicians. The Field Service Engineering will also be required to perform service technician work at the customer location.
Essential Job Functions
- Builds customer relationship professionally through solution-oriented communications and service, providing both on-site and reactive support
- Works with engineering, project management, spare parts, and management groups to resolve escalated problems
- Provides written service & expense reports on all activities performed on-site; all required documentation on time
- Properly document, label, and return all defective parts resulting from repair
- Make technical recommendations to Engineering, Quality, and Production teams
- Work closely with the Field Service Manager & Quality Engineering to ensure site work performed as expected and on times
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures at all times
- Develops and maintains habits and practices that meet the on-site safety requirements
- Report any breaches or concerns on health and safety matters to the appropriate member of the management team
- Ensures all materials, tools, and equipment provided are kept safe and secure
- Ensures all tools are calibrated and in good working order to EnerDel requirements
- Assists in manufacturing or engineering with customer projects, as well as unit refurbishment or replacement at the customer site or the EnerDel manufacturing facility
- Assists the Order Fulfillment team on spare parts, authorized returned material, and service orders as needed
- Performs all required activities at the customer facility or on-site
- May require travel up to 25%
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Preferred:-
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent is preferred
- Three (3) to five (5) years experience in a related field
- Valid Driver’s License
- Passport (unexpired)
- Experience in battery and energy storage technology a plus
- Intermediate to advanced skills with the: Internet, data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing, specifically with Microsoft Word and Excel, especially with functions for reports and time and record-keeping
- Strong verbal and non-verbal skills
- Highly organized, self-starter, with a strong sense of urgency, creativity, and confidence
- Communicates effectively in written and spoken English while working in a cross-functional team environment
- Utilizes keen attention to detail in every aspect of work
- Ability to be self-motivated and work & think well independently
- Ability to deal with difficult situations effectively
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and problem solve individually or in a team environment
- Ability to have strong follow through with implementing procedures, practices, and programs
- Ability to listen to others for meaning and intent
- Ability to use critical thinking in daily work and own tasks and takes ownership for self
