MAJOR FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the development and improvement of active battery materials.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Establish test criteria for specification evaluation.
- Develop material synthesis process from lab scale quantity to production volume including planning, product approval and manufacturing trials.
- Source raw material vendors.
- Data evaluation for product and process conformance.
- Manage the design, build and qualification of material synthesis process.
- Manage budget and cost tracking.
- Write operator instructions, control plans and maintenance manuals.
- Assist with technical trouble-shooting.
- Support ISO-9000 certification activities.
- All other duties as necessary and assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Experience with both solid and liquid phase synthesis required.
- Previous research and synthesis knowledge of metal oxides required.
- Experience with scaling up material synthesis from lab scale quantity to production volumes required.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
- Masters degree in Material Science or related degree required.
- Minimum 5 years related experience required.
